Hillary Clinton Beijing Speech
The speech, dedicated to women that was read by Hillary Clinton, listeners needed to support women based on the great contributions that they make in all corners of life including when they are home as wives and mothers, in the family as daughters and sisters, in their jobs and in the community at large when they set up as citizens and leaders.
The family is taken care of women and it is the same women who are required to ensure everything is stable in their places of work, on the course and in the right place as they are required to be. Hillary argues that by supporting, they will be able to support themselves and their families comfortably. She also urged that if women received support to ensure they are educated and healthy, they would be in a position to earn and work as full time partners in the society. This helps them to enhance their communities, families and nations.
She also argued that despite the fact that women make up half of the population, they also make up 70 percent of the world’s illiterate and poor group. They are also the most undervalued despite their prime responsibility of taking care of the elderly as well as the sick. Women should be empowered and enhanced to help them achieve greater control of their destiny. They should also be protected from torture, arrests and abuse.
It is beneficial to support women since their rights are discriminated and often, used as armed conflicts tools. If women across the globe were no discriminated upon and were supported, the world would be prosperous and a peaceful place.
