Introduction

General Colin Powell is not only a retired general in the US army but also a US statesman who also served as a US Secretary of State between 2001 and 2005. His tenure as US Secretary of State was under George W. Bush, the former US President (Powell, 2012). This presentation will explain why General Colin Powell should be considered for the next American President.

Why General Colin Powell should be considered for the next American President

General Colin Powell should be considered for the next American President because,he has demonstrated his abilities as an accomplished and polished diplomat over the years. His tenure as the US Secretary of State was highly successful and he displayed his expert skills in diplomacy (Powell, 2012). Other than his excellent skills in diplomacy, Powell has also gained a reputation of restoring the repute and morale of the military while he served as its General. All these qualities can be extremely useful if he ever makes it to become the President of the United States.

General Colin Powell is a person who has immensely contributed to the military. Since the military is regarded as a disciplined force, he can bring in his expertise as the next American President and the office would benefit from his discipline (Powell, 2012). His dignified and relaxed demeanor would also make him a good President. In addition, he is ability to speak in a competent manner to different individuals with regard to a wide range of issues that affect his country. He has been able to inspire awe in many individuals around him.

Conclusion

In conclusion, General Colin Powell is an individual who would fit the office of the American President and should be considered as the next US President because over the years, he has demonstrated his immense organizational skills as well as vision for his country.
